👕 Spirit Wear👕
Staff and students looking to add to their Thunderbolt wardrobe: the online store is open again this year BUT only for a LIMITED TIME! Go online and place your orders before THE END OF THE DAY TODAY, September 18th! You can pick up an order form in the Cafeteria or visit the website HERE. See Mrs. Thompson if you need an order or have questions.

🚫 Perfumes/Colognes Reminder 🚫

We would like to remind all staff and students to refrain from wearing heavy perfumes, colognes, or body spray. We have staff and students that are allergic to these scents and they may cause a reaction.

💪 Fall Weight Training 💪
Fall weight training begins this week at the Senior High Weight Room. Boys weight training days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Girls days will be Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. All students must have a valid physical on file with the nurse to participate.

📷 Student Pictures 📷
All students should have gotten a reminder in homeroom with a date and time for student pictures. Pictures will take place on Thursday, September 20th and Friday, September 21st in the Library. Please make sure you take this reminder home and make note of what day and time you are having your picture taken. Students will receive passes on the day of their pictures. Please remember that these pictures are REQUIRED and ALL STUDENTS in order to get a student ID card and a photo for Campus Portal. If you have any questions, please have your teacher email Ms. Finney in the Library.

Dessert Theater Auditions 🎭
Auditions for this year’s Dessert Theater will be right after school in the little theater at the Senior High School on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018. Be prepared to stay until 5 PM. You must pick up an informational packet with from Mr. DeSantis in the Band Room at the Senior High or Mrs. Terry in the Choir Room at Memorial. Please return your audition form to those teachers as soon as possible!

🌿 Go Green Club 🌿
The Go Green Club will be holding its first meeting of the year on Monday, September 24th at 2:30pm in Room B102 at the Senior High. The goal of the Go Green Club is to provide awareness of our planet’s resources. The Go Green Club is for all students who want to have a positive impact on the environment. We do many exciting projects and trips throughout the school year and would love to have you join us in B102 at the Senior High after school on Monday, September 24th! If you are at Memorial you can take the activity shuttle bus to the Senior High right after school.

✈ German Exchange Trip ✈

Attention all German students: There will be an informational meeting regarding the German Exchange trip. All students interested in hosting a German student this October or going to Germany with us this summer are encouraged to attend. It will be held in the Little Theater on Wednesday, September 26th at 6:30pm. Any students unable to attend please see Herr Gant in Room A100 at the Senior High or Herr Harrington in Room A108 at Memorial for more information.


🎓 College Admissions/Financial Aid Night 🎓
The Millville High School Guidance Department is hosting our annual College Admissions/Financial Aid Night on Thursday, September 27th at 6:00 PM in the Millville Senior High School Cafeteria. Parents and guests should enter through the Main Office doors in the rotunda. Counselors will be there to explain the various steps of the College Admission process as well as how to apply for financial aid using the FAFSA.

📝 PSAT 📝
The PSAT is being given at MSHS on Saturday, October 13th. The fee to take the test is $20 and the PSAT is the official practice test for the SAT. Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors who are planning to go directly to a 4-year college after high school are encouraged to take the test. Interested students should sign up in the Guidance Office by, Tuesday, October 9th. Please bring cash only to register.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards 🏆
The 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards are open to students in grades 5-12 who have participated in a volunteer activity within the past year. Honors are granted at the local, state, and national level. Top honorees earn cash prizes and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. for four days of special recognition events. To apply, students must go to the following website: www.nassp.org/spirit. The deadline to apply is Monday, October 29th so that our school can certify the application in time.

All are invited to gather around the flagpole at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, September 26th. “See You at the Pole” is a morning of student prayer. All over the globe at this very moment students and advocates of students will be gathering to sing songs and pray. This is completely voluntary for all people who may wish to join in corporate prayer. See you at the pole!

Library News

The Library Media Center is now OPEN for lunches! Stop by our main desk any time before your lunch in 3rd block to sign up and get a lunch pass from us. Remember, bagged lunches are allowed but cafeteria lunches MUST be eaten in the cafeteria before you visit us! The Library will be open after school on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS for Anime Club and Gaming Club. Anime Club will begin Tuesday, September 18th and Gaming Club will begin Thursday, September 20th.

Student Council

Student Council member petitions are available outside T108! We are also looking for officers! The First student council meeting will be Thursday, September 20th before and after school in T108!

Senior Baby Pictures
ATTENTION ALL SENIORS! Start bringing in your baby pictures for inclusion in this year’s Torch! You can start Y219 off by being #1 in the baby department. Turn your baby photos into Mr. Canino in C114 or any one of our yearbook staff. If you would like to submit your pictures online please see Mr. Canino or one of the yearbook staff for instructions. Deadline for submitting baby pictures is Monday, October 1st!

. . . AND while you are dropping off your baby picture in C114, why not drop off a few good pictures of you and your friends?

Yankee Candle Fundraiser

Freshman and Sophomores
 are invited to participate in the Yankee Candle Fundraising starting on Monday, September, 17th and ending Monday, October 15th. 40% of all proceeds go into your student account. If you are interested please pick up a packet from the Main Office or from Mrs. Pang in Tech Lab 3.

Library News

Peanut Allergy

Reminder that we have staff and students allergic to peanuts. Row 2 Table 1 in the Cafeteria will now be peanut-free.
